THANK YOU, For the love, the joy, the care, the sharing and being such an important part of my life. Great experiences are the bright spots in life and include fun, exciting challenges, triumphs and special moments throughout the ride of a lifetime!

Radio broadcasting is as wild and tame, nerve wracking and heart warming as one would imagine when one has the rare and wonderful opportunity to broadcast the music you love for the people you love. Music communicates a story, it conveys, heart wrenching or heart warming moments. Every emotion brought to the listener from any form, fashion or manner of heart ache about life and love lost or found, is laid bare. The voice and the lyrics become one and a musical alchemy is created, instrumentals also create a mood, be it  pensive, dark, lively, high spirited or melancholy.

Radio is something special when you are driving along, suddenly a song, that certain song or concerto, the words or rhythm bring you to tears. Your spirits are lifted or a forlorn longing is evoked. A sad story is sung about a tragic ending or new beginning, the exhilaration and excitation is thrilling and chilling. Music has done it's job to stir the soul, shake, awake, toss and turn you over, lift you up or drop you down to a contemplative humble place.

Radio is an amazing platform to lament, celebrate and frame the times of our lives, the experiences and people, the quirky, kooky, crazy, incredible, indelible, lovable, forgettable and unforgettable people, places and things, we are all about. 

Thank you, Radio, you have been, currently remain and will be a big part of my story. For now, keep on playing the music, the memories follow or are created while we listen in the car, in the house, in the backyard, in any situation you can think of where a radio playing great tunes would be a perfect addition and great company. 📻🎜🎝

Or Is It Just Me

The world seems to be moving at warp speed, you get on with the trials and tribulations, the mundane and the magical moments, then one day you look-up and months and years have gone by, or is it just me. The cares and concerns, that took up so much of your life at one time are not even given more than a fleeting thought now, or is it just me. 

The challenges sometimes one after the other, once thought to be overwhelming and unsurmountable have been met with courage and the will to proceed accordingly and we feel satisfied knowing we did what it took to get something done, or is it just me. 

We can't get enough of some people sometimes all we want is to be alone nice and quiet in our own private space, or is it just me. Sometimes we crave the sound of melody, rhythm and a good story in a song, when  music is the only antidote and sometimes at the end of the day we cannot bear one note of a tune, it is time to refrain from listening to what we take so much comfort in at other times. It is simply time to take a break turn-off the music and tune-in to the spaciousness of silence, or is it just me.

Music

What can you say about music that hasn't been said? From my point of view and from what I hear, music means so much to so many. It is taken personally as friend and a foe, a joy bringer and prompter of pain and energizer. With music an atmosphere is created, the mood is set, motivation on the ready. The emotional aspect of music brings one to tears as easily as the cheers, the quiet, calm memory to emotions of elation, excitation and exhilaration when it feels like your heart wants to jump out of your chest. Just as certain sad songs evoke sorrowful memories, longing, loneliness, the music, melody or lyrics recall the very moments of life we were living when the song came out. The stories told in song are powerful, poignant, corny and compelling as life itself. Lyrics dress-up the music to create such a compatible composition while the instruments add dimension and layers of texture to a song, throw in a great voice and magic takes place. Musical recordings are awesome gifts and a great companion through the years, an exciting place to go for quick sound bites or to take along on long road trips, to keep you company and facilitate inspiration.

Music is like a comforting blanket you wrap yourself in, you fill your head and your heart with the warmth of the sounds, the instruments and voice may be an irresistible chance encounter you hoped to get to know and remember forever. Music is like an old and new friend or member of the family, an entity, spirit, a thing that has always been there in good times and bad, the soundtrack of our own story plays on with a playlist that includes oldies, sentimental, festive, fancy, edgy, mellow and maniacal melodies. It's all there, the soulful, heart stopping, tear-jerking, dance-inducing, thought provoking, melodic, always laden with rhythm to get my attention.

I can not imagine a world without music even though there are times when my brain is on overload and does not know what to do with another note. The essence of music flows, softly or sternly bringing about overwhelming feelings, it can be too much as the sound saturates the air with a liquid type matter that makes me feel like I am drowning in it. The slightest sound of music can keep me awake or wake me up while a lullaby puts me to sleep, depending on the volume, the tune and if I am tired or not. Music is as reliable a relationship in my life as the moon, the sun and Holy Spirit. A matter of fact, emotional connection and partnership that I am happy to say; will always have a prominent place in my life.

As glorious as you are mysterious, brutally handsome as you are bitter sweet, sprouting buds, birds and bee's paint mother earths beautiful face with fragrant scents, mouthwatering flavors, fresh flowers the sights and sounds leave one breathless, bewildered in awe and part of the season of change, connected to earth's lavish tapestry.

The wind chimes stir and the cool evening casts curious shadows on the wall as the moon and stars vie for our attention. Meanwhile planes seem to fly playfully in the sky, a dog shakes and her collar clinks against her gold fur, in the distance another dog barks in harmony with the sound of cars driving to and fro.

The sounds of the city create background music with a familiar rhythm that is comforting, often transparent as the melody blends into the day and night. The morning light is welcomed or dreaded accompanied by the sweet sound of birds chirping getting on with the business of welcoming another day in May.

Oh c'mon, this has got to be the best of the best commercials ever, simply brilliant! 

This video is currently my all time favorite, it is world class kooky, crazy, fun. The ensemble cast of creatures  blend in purrfect harmony to create a colossal progrum and make beautiful music together.

This is the stuff sweet dreams are made of and might perhps offer a glimpse of heaven.

Hope 2013 is strong, healthy, happy and full of really good stuff!

 

The Story of Life

The thoughts, concepts, philosophies, practices and beliefs of people truly amaze me, from the depths of despair to shear delight and the thick creamy waves of desire, there exists a passion for life with the truly great thinkers of the ages. The words and teachings of such minds, bursts forward in words, in art, science, the expression of humanity reveals a heart stopping, mind blowing creation. The story of life begs many questions; where does it begin, how will it end, what keeps it going and who will contribute to or take away from this place, the planet we inhabit and cling to with our lives?

Here is an example of someone who rode into the rodeo on a great rocking horse named Music, his words wrangled, mangled, twisted and shouted across the sheet, pages full of observations, some silly, some wise, wonderful and brilliant. The lyrics sung sweetly and strong are still spread around the arena of the world like sawdust, the notes, melody, rhythm, rebellious nature of the song thrust forth, untamed and unaffected by constraint.
