Year Out Year In

The baton of time is being passed, time marches, races, speeds, goes by at any given moment seemingly slowly, sometimes fast, statically, sporadically, intermittently constantly, fleetingly, always moving passing by waiting for no one. Change occurs in the stillness and in the flurry of activity, in a surge, a thrust, a sound, a wave length, sequentially in order. The clock Non-stop, the clock ticks our hearts beat, interrupted only by malware, malfunction, ache or break. Unwavering outstretched hands of time continue keeping track of the seconds, minutes, hours. Yesterday turns into today, tonight slips into tomorrow. Last years ups and downs, smiles and frowns, tears and cheers gave way to this years hopes, dreams, triumphs, tragedies, spills and chills and will make way for next years delights, disappointments, milestones and mistakes which will remind me how curious, fun, interesting, breathtaking, bad, bitter, better and beautiful life is. What was, is, yet to unfold remains at the mercy of time, tables, lines, land marks, dates, history, the present, the future, how life takes place constantly  measured, calculated, considered, referenced and changing.

Luxuriously Lunar

What a spectacle we have on our hands, what a show. The earth robes the moon with her black velvet, dark blue shadow. The sun whispers it's celestial secrets to you from behind the scenes. Light, color, space bend, bump, grind, glide, slip and slide into a perfectly orchestrated dance, a luxurious and smooth award winning, spell binding performance. It's the Waldorf Astoria, The Copacabana, Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall all wrapped up into one amazing theater. The eyes full of stars witness an uncommon sight to behold.
The Swan dives as the heavens display the minuet of  magic. We marvel and wonder, study and observe the vastness of the stage. Each movement as subtle as the moon is big. As dramatic as the final curtain call. Mean while on-lookers in the astronomical, astrological, scientific, physics,  environmental, sociological, biological, zoological and romantic schools of thought ponder the natural, cosmic activity with excitement, great anticipation, hope for everything and anything that can be harvested from such a phenomenal moment in time and space.

Thank you!

Thank you for the love, the shared times of our lives we cared, we dared to be thankful, to savor every drop, every single thing, to be grateful for and happy about, in awe of, humbled by and honored with. How thankful I am for you, for the simplest and most spectacular times. How can I ever thank you enough. Thank you very very much. Sincerely yours, me

Make Me

You Make me laugh, you make me sigh, sing and say things I shouldn't or that should have been said b4. You make me mad, you make be happy, squirly, twirly, silly and sad. You make me want to dance, to do like you, walk and talk this way and that, and tell great stories & grim stories about you.

You make me want to yell, rant, rave at the top of my lungs. You make me want to love harder, give more, make merry and bow my head and cry myself to sleep, bow my head and tell you how grateful I am for you. You make me want to rock and roll, stutter and stare, care, dare & think twice when I let you make me do anything.

In The Beginning

Out of nothing, came everthing?? In the beginning, Alpha understands the end, Omega... so it is, quite plain and simple. All of us, this, that, the other thing, exists then exits but not completly. The why's, where's and how's, leave us wondering about it all.

In the end as in the beginning something happens, shifts occur, change is constant. The uncertain made clear, hope and faith in good prevail.

Darkness only as dark as the light is bright.

Love large, live big, die with dignity, rest in peace... my wish for you forever ~

You Great Big Beautiful Moon

Last night you appeared with that bright, big, buttery, creaminess of you'rs. As if you just couldn't wait to cast your beauty on everyone, every where... as if to say; "Here, take this light, let it drape over you and yours with goodness, let my light lace all life with the best of everything our hearts and souls desire. The effect you have on us is as subtle as it is stark. It's been cloudy and rainy here in Burkee Town, the air warm and muggy one moment then turns crisp, clear, clean and extra nice. All of this makes for a delicious caldo as July winds down, served-up with a smile to light-up the sky.

Further Than the Eye Can See

South America, Mexico-Acapulco, Guerro. July 1, 2010 and I am here. I crave the ocean while immersed in the great spirit of south western United States and live in New Mexico, my home sweet home. The people I love so dearly nestle in their lives, work awaits, projects loom, daily living ensues. I attempt to keep pace with the ebb and flow, the rhythm of the high desert, rocks, dirt, gravel, grid, concrete, hustle & bustle about in the goings-on that require my attention, the business of life, day in/day out city living.
For now tho’ I sit in awe, I’m humbled and wonder about the oceans vastness, its rhythm, the massiveness, its might, as unforgiving as it is phenomenal in measure and magnificance. This week I am spellbound by the endless horizon. I look out at the sea, no houses, cars, buildings, transmitter towers lining the seascape, no stores, shopping centers, malls.
Gravity, the rotation of our planet, the push pull is orchestrated in such a way that storms occur more in a sporadic nature than constant, although consistently sporadic. Tsunami’s, as real as can be become a metaphor for life, triumphs and trials overpower the unprepared with gigantic tidal waves of despair, doubt, fear while calm waters are shallow and can run deep, so deep and still, with sweet foamy gushes of delight, joy, anticipation for good things to come.

This desert dog visits as a foreigner in a world that seems like a dream. Reality lives around the corner and works hard every day here and out there, as we bask in the lap of luxury… the irony, the stark contrast, the quiet desperation of all humanity, desperate for peace, love, respect.
Mystery prevails, faith calms my restless soul and I find the more I unravel the more I realize our existence goes further than the eye can see. It’s unrelated but relative as you are to me.. we are to them and they are to us. Vile viscosity in one part of the world, in another part... wondrous waves repeat a seemingly slow muted thunder, crashing, bam-boom over and over again like a masterful work of animated art.

On the back end of a week’s worth of wonderful R&R, July begins for me, in an unusual manner, making me count my blessings with much appreciation for such tremendous moments as these.

Breathing Down Our Neck's

So Sunni Marie, you know the four-legged-golden-hair, good doggie-dog- Boxer and me go out for a walk to the park down the street. Perfect evening for a stroll with your best girl K9. You call us out to get some air, we need it. Hey you knuckle heads in the house, c'mon out, I'm here you lucky people, come see me, get a load of me. So we did and glad of it. On our way back I feel you breathing down my neck, no doubt Sunni felt you on her furry, flashy white and goldness too. One word, one syllable; NICE. Thank you for the subtle and sweet gesture. It was not lost on me.

One more look-see at you in all your radiance before I call it a night and my goodness aren't you just about as lit-up, large and lovely as can be? How I enjoy you when the sun shines it's shine on you. See you, feel you early tomorrow perhaps? If not catch you tomorrow night. Night night precious moon. I hope you cast sweet light in every one's dreams.

They Say

"They Say" by Deniece Williams & Phillip Baily is an amazing version but something about the quality and strength of the Deniece Williams & Sandi Patti duet is electrifying, absolutely inspired. It is about a soulful a song as they come when singing praise to the name of Jesus. The man who came to save us from ourselves. "They say, he was just a man... had the strangest plan, that his love would set the captives free..." with the capacity to give life eternally to those who beleive." Hallelujah!!!

With profound respect and humility I submit; The being, entity, representation of the Glory & Grace of God, The Holy Spirit and source of life, Blessed One... is more, so much more and beyond what we can conceive, "miracles ARE true" "what he's done for me, only Christ can do."
What he, she, the author & finisher of life continues to do... what cannot completely be described but only referred to as one who walked and indeed walks the earth teaching, sharing with everyone, everywhere in search of the truth, peace, love, the perfection and ultimate way. Prayers, in the simplest form & blessings constantly stare at us right in the eyes & hold us closer than our own heart beat. The intructions laid bare... the way, the light, the port in our storm, many tools and resources are required and given to traverse the land of the lost. The good news is available to find refuge under and over the wings, the arms, the fire and sacredness found in what I know in my heart and soul to be God Almighty... everything & more that Jesus represents to humankind and all of existance.
May Blessings be yours, mine and ours forever more.

Air, Err, Ayr, Are, O2

You ever start out to do one thing and end up with quite the other? Me too. What happened was, I went looking for the quote; "To err is human to forgive divine" by Alexander Pope. Then and not too terribly different then the original thing I was looking for... I came across the following thing I like a lot too. "How happy is the blameless Vestal's lot! The world forgetting, by the world forgot. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind! Each pray'r accepted, and each wish resign'd." ~ Alexander Pope

May you have a good May and every day be better than the day b4.

1/2 & 1/2

The glass, half empty or half full?
Since air & liquid are elements essential to life on earth.. the answer is both or neither. On planet Earth, the glass is half full of air and half full of liquid, therefore completely full. An answer which is neither optimistic nor pessimistic but scientific.

And then there's the glass or cup that can overflow.. so you have to sip from your saucer.

Just curious, jus asking...

I do hope your glass, mug, cup, canteen, schooner, tumbler, goblet, bottle or vessel of your choice: is good and plenty of whatever you need to be blessed, a blessing and a better person.

xo, me

I Spy with my little i (eye)... Some thing that starts with an M

You make me want to reach up and out to you, right here right now.

"Moon River"
music by Henry Mancini, lyrics by Johnny Mercer
Moon River, wider than a mile, I'm crossing you in style some day. Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker, wherever you're going I'm going your way. Two drifters off to see the world. There's such a lot of world to see. We're after the same rainbow's end-- waiting 'round the bend, my huckleberry friend, Moon River and me.

Last time I checked this evening, You were one creamy, dreamy, hazy, crazy MOON... you were. It's the MOON! Am I right? Did I get it right? Is it the moon you spied with you're little eye? It is!! I got it!.. YEAH! I like the moon. I like to watch it grow every month. I like it especially when it is in full bloom, I mean full view from here... big, beautiful, undeniably delicious, uncommonly good, glorious & grand.

Goodnight ~

"Goodnight, you princes of Maine, you kings of New England" ~ Michael Caine, portraying a doctor at the St Cloud Orphanage in the late 90s film, Cider House Rules. So many sweet ways to say goodnight. I hope you go to sleep sweetly tonight.

Now, blessings light on him that first invented sleep! It covers a man all over, thoughts and all, like a cloak; it is meat for the hungry, drink for the thirsty, heat for the cold, and cold for the hot. It is the current coin that purchases all the pleasures of the world cheap, and the balance that sets the king and the shepherd, the fool and the wise man, even. ~Miguel de Cervantes, Don Quixote, 1605

"Seek Inspiration In Daily Affairs" ~ Dan Fogelberg

Dan Fogelberg's Heart Hotel's strikes a colossal chord with me in his masterful and seemingly simple performance in St. Louis (circa, early 90's).

The song was immediately on my musical radar in the 80's. This number is one of his many musical & poetic treasures that sounds fresher and more exuberant than ever. Dan and the boys playing with him in this performance hit it out of the ball park... in fact, although Dan Fogelberg has physically transitioned on, his music is alive and well and still inspires one to "seek inspiration in daily affairs" ~~~

Theo's Theology

Wordsmith, Theo Warner takes the listener and the viewer of this video for a joy ride as he crafts a brilliant bold piece of thoughtful analysis about such matters as Christianity, "ecclesiastical music" art, dance, poetry, the man of La Mancha... "to have quixotic qualities is to have the highest of human virtues". With attention to every detail in this YouTube video, even the font is fun and easy to read. The language used in this almost 11min. video is masterfully orchestrated. Idea's compliment and connect as beautifully as a fine jewelery box filled with exquisite gems and jewels. He laments about color, no color, photography, dimension, imagination & faith while challenging reality and fantasy, life experiences and "all the crap learned in high school". TW dissects Paul Simon's Kodachrome (The Book of Kodachrome) with the touch of a master surgeon. The commentary is accompanied by dreamy easy to take images. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmiYXaZjYSM

Moon Gazer

Here's the tall and short of it... Last night the moon looked creamy, buttery smooth, velvety, foggy friendly & mostly in full moonly bloom-- but it seems like lately people are feeling a discourse that could be due to any number of reasons... people suffering, things breaking, hearts aching. What ever it is I hope it passes sooner than later... maybe it is just a matter of the earth currently rotating, rattling, spinning a bit out of control. No, please tell me it's just off it's axis momentarily.

So I went looking for you, I knew you were there cuz we saw you earlier at dusk.. besides how could I not feel you & see even a glimmer of you? I had to bolster myself as I stepped back to take a big eye and heart full of you. You great big beautiful phat hunk of round romantic consolation to mother earths darkness. I looked-up so happy to see you out there in all your glory.. you.
My neck stretched to get a good direct eye to eye type connection with you. It was love at last sight and felt as if it was the first time I ever laid eyes on you. You had a different look to you from here, a distinctive ring of clouds surrounding you... a lunar halo. Phab-a-lus one!
YES. Oh scrumptious opulant being. You bold, bright, massive, heart stopping, take no prisinors puffy ping-pong ball! Once again I'm struck by your beautiful ways. My goodness you're a looker ~

Coyote Story

I wanted to share a little story told (Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010) yesterday in church. It's a Native American tale about a little one who comes before an elder. A grandmother tells the story of the coyote. The wise woman says humankind houses two coyotes in the heart... one is full of fear, doubt, despair, anguish, hate, impatience, dread, negativity, dark thoughts and the other coyote contains love, peace, joy, confidence, trust, faith, hope, strength, courage, resilience. power.. the child with a tilt of the head is completely unsure and asks; "which one wins" grandmother responds; "the one you feed"

The story's ending so simple, little, yet big as can be & caught me by surprise. Made me sit up tall and be glad I have the capacity to feed the hungry coyote in me, what i need to be better ~

You Alright?

You good? Hope your not letting anybody make you feel bad about anything. Hope your not being less than to make other people feel better... cause you know sometimes people mistake kindness for stupidity and mistakingly think it's OK to be ill mannered and disprespectful to those who least deserve it. It's not natural to be unkind, to trample on people like it doesn't matter. Is it really asking too much to approach every single individual we encounter with respect.

Stand tall sinners and saints your time has come to rise above the darkness, the murky waters of despair, doubt, fear, insecurity clears for you right now. We are equipped with our own intrinsic power, perfection, mighty will for goodness. We fall short perhaps, we might fail but let it be not for trying to do right and be better. It's so easy to just say; forget about it, all that happy horse sh*t... but the stuff we are made of longs to be simply happy, healthy, to have peace of mind. It's so simple yet we insist too often on complicating the journey to that place where tenderness is found, where the truth of the matter lies in one's own capacity to give love & receive it. It's accessable here and now, at this very moment. Have it, it's yours for the taking and pass it along. I pray we find our way, that we bless one another and continue to seek the essential elements of life. That everyday and night our hearts and souls find refuge in peaceful dwellings and that our thoughts and actions may be uplifting for others at every opportunity.

Here we go... another one of those interesting dates/times when the numbers look interesting by way of the sequence they are in...
What's it all about Alfie? Oh now that's a good song.

I hope your Sunday, January, year to date is going well. I hope you have hope, happiness, peace of mind & heart, someone to love, loved ones who love you and don't know what they would do without you. I hope you feel good right now.

Ronald Isley's voice is so sweet & strong. To combine the musicality of maestro Burt Bacharach with a virtuoso such as R Isley is to discover the rich, soulful, passion that can be found in brilliant spellbinding music.

Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote several great songs people like Dione Warwick, Dusty Springfield, Ron Isley & others sang. Their music today still sounds better than ever which is testimony to the staying power and quality of Bacharach/Davids craftsmanship & artistry. Many people through the years even today sing these gems that just get better with age.

-The Look of Love- Dusty Springfield recored this one originally after Dione Warwick passed on it, then she recored it when she realized what a crown jewel it was, Chris Botti & Paula Cole (I think) also serve this one up piping hot and ready to consume.
-A House Is Not a Home- D. Warwick, Luther Vandross among others including R Isley have recorded this crown jewel
-A Message To Michael
-Make It Easy On Yourself
Youtube.com, Pandora.com, Slacker.com are great sites to go nuts w/the music you love. The songs listed above are definately worth the look-see & listen to.

Peace, love & good music to you from me

Blu ooh Moon, you caught me cryin, no laughin in the rain>>>.. ddaah, dadadee, dededeeeede.

So here we are another year lived out as a brand new year arrives just in time with brand new possibilities & stares us down demanding to know if, how & when we intend to handle it. I should like to choose the good stuff. Opt for excellence, take "it" to another level, kick it up a notch and such. Yes, that sounds, feels right. So here we go, hold on tight to the tools, mechanisms, artillary, resources, attitude and proper perspective in place... Si, dale gas.... Ahh hoo AH! Alright, alright... yeah yeah yeah... lemme @ it...
