Consideration

As a matter of faith and hope in what is unseen, unknown and uncertain there are many things in our lives on a daily basis that beg to be explained and made clear. Our peace of mind appears to rely on things way beyond this earthly plain. We find it easier to worry and fret about the past, the future, what was and what might be.  We fuss about things that are beyond our control and even things well within.

To lean on the epi center of our being is find a calm quiet place to regroup, rediscover new possibilities with a positive perspective. We find comfort in the simple quiet places where peace is front and center and leads us to soft landings and ample lighting to quide and protect us from our own tendancy to work ourselves up with our imagination. We are better, blessed and able to be a blessing when we reflect on our ability to see things through one heartbeat, one step, one day and experience at a time

BABY BOOMERS

Baby Boomers, gotta give 'um credit for hanging in there, through good times and dark times, since there is no choice in the matter, still, credit is due. Time is mostly being kind to aging Baby Boomers who are still active, some working some retired and some still not sure what they want to be when they grow up.

You know you are talking to a Baby Boomer when they start getting sentimental about pay phones, typewriters, encyclopedias, drive-in movies, innocent mischief, fun and games, playing for hours outside and favorite television variety shows like Jack Benny, Ed Sullivan on Sunday nights and Red Skelton. Music was and still is on the forefront and in the background. Music was and is a character in our lives. We could easily recall what we were doing and where we were based on top 40 popular hits being aired on the radio at a given time. The Beatles and Elvis, Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Journey, The Dobbie Brothers, Michael Jackson & The Jackson Five jumped out of the boom box and jazzy hipsters like Ray Charles, Tony Benet and Quincy Jones, always seemed to be there.

Ideology and believing in the possibility of world peace was an important part of life and not just an illusion, although many soldiers who went to Vietnam would disagree. The man on the moon seemed about right and righteous and gave Americans something to be proud of and hopeful about. Politics appeared to be a bit more on the up and up and peoples votes counted. Government has always been a strange and curious animal with extra limbs and sharp teeth, a funny and furious freakish-looking creature, desperate for it's survival as the fittest, wealthiest most powerful predator in control of it's own territory.

To be a Baby Boomer or not to be, is out of the question since that is what those of us born during the era we came along in, are referred to. The establishment now is youthful a new livelier funky version of the generation that preceded us. Let us strut with confidence break rules bend the sh!t out of the norm and continue the struggle for equality and justice, peace and love. Let us grow older armed with spunky, youthful attitudes as we sometimes hobble along a bit more than we used to but not as much as the people we thought were so old and still around blessing us with their own brand of tried true and tested wisdom.

Happy Mother's Day!

To you dear mother, dear special one of my life. Happy Mother's Day to you for being in my corner of the world, for loving me like no one else in the world could ever do. For teaching me the way to be a good person, by your example. I hope this Mother's Day you realize what a blessing you are and will remain forever.

Happiness and peace of mind is my simple and sincere prayer for you and I am very blessed to know you are still just a phone call away, that I can hug you and talk to you and tell you how much I love you and appreciate you in my life. You lived your life for your family and sacrificed much to ensure your children were loved and cared for and understood the importance of respect for everyone.

How very important you are to me and all your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
You need to be reminded that by any measure and any standard you have accomplished an extraordinary feat in raising your six children, steering us away from careless behavior and nurturing us with your strong faith that God would see us through. You are a rare and resilient human being who did not take the easy road as a single working mother. You dared to take-on motherhood with ferocious intent to do a good job despite the challenges as vast as your prayers were constant. With much love and respect I hope we are an accurate reflection of the important, wise and wonderful things you taught us.

May the Holy Spirit and creator of life continue to bless and keep you.

A Blessing

It hurts to know there is so much suffering going on in the world, when does it stop, when did people start treating each other so poorly? Children and animals seem to have to absorb much of humanities harshness, of course through no fault of their own. On the one hand you have people who understand the value of life and treat the innocent with respect and kindness. On the other hand you have individuals who themselves were mistreated or who are now enduring abuse, negligence, cruelty.  Consequently the hostility perpetuates. It must matter to send love, prayer, good thoughts to those who have no voice, whose cries go unheard with no one to advocate for them.

Dear God, if all we can do to help the lost and forgotten, is keep the suffering in mind with reverence, then let our spirits connect and comfort who we can. To stop our selfishness when we complain about inconveniences, let us be reminded to be grateful for our own place in the world, where we are comfortable, safe, enjoy freedom, countless resources and things many, only imagine.

To somehow be a blessing to the tiniest soul in the most remote corner of the world to the one's we live with and see regularly. Let us be some one's light in their darkness, comfort in their confusion, joy in their sadness... let us be a blessing with every speck of possibility in peace and with the power and presence of the Holy Spirit ascending upon those most in need of respite and relief.

Moonlit Night

You are so cool, so big and beautiful.
Your light makes me feel good as you shine like crystal, everything seems clean and clear. You cast a bright silver glow on the concrete, even Boxer girl, Sunni Marie with her gold furry back glistens as you cover her with your shiny brilliance. Music sounds better, the air is fresh and you seem to be at the center of it all.
Thank you!
Thank you for blessing me with your radiance still, after all these years.
I simply never get tired of seeing you and reaching out through you to everyone- to emit love and blessings, prayers for peace within everyone and for everyone without it, to far reaching areas in need of light and goodness.
