JAX 🐾

We rescued eachother over twelve years ago. It was as much of an adjustment to get used to having the big brutus of a Boxer around as it is now to adjust to good dog not being here now. His soul and great spirit remains and visiting me the afternoon following his send-off in the morning at the veterinarians office. The painful decision stemmed from advancing heart failure that was making it more challenging for him to get comfortable and move.

In the dream I sit at the dining room table and look up to see Jax standing in front of the loveseat. I stand up and walk a few steps toward him to make sure he is really there. It is so vivid yet I think to myself, this is a dream. I walk to the other side of the couch and good boy moves over to where I sit so that I can love him-up with kisses and hugs about his beautiful furry face and head. The moment with Jax dissipated into my awaking from the nap was taking. It was as powerful and heaven sent message for me as the butterfly incidents following brother Mark's death in 1994.

It is so amazing how much our beloved pets mean to us, their presence enriches our lives. It is priceless therapy to know the warmth, love and trust of a pet who makes life so much more enjoyable and fun and full of surprises and joy.

I miss you quite much, Jax, my guy, my hito, companion through Covid, the good days and bad, the wonderful times and worrisome occasions that turned-out better just having you around, so comforting with the innocence, humility and heart warming ways befitting an angel. πŸΎπŸ’”

Our Lady of Guadalupe

My mother used to say something extra nice would happen to her on December 12th, The Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. She expected it, looked and listened for something special and sure enough, good things, news, a little or big something would occur. Faith and hope sealed the deal to ensure Our Lady, would give a nod to such an ardent follower and devotee of the patron saint of The America's, a precious and powerful presence in my mother's life and prayers through the years.  πŸŒΉ

Stand By

The world spins on it's axis, twirling, gyrating, shaking, sick and tired, in sync with surroundings near and far away. Various energy, matter and the inexplicable do their part according to the grand known and mysterious scheme of things. Earth's inhabitants, yes fragile as a baby, resilient as the mighty sea while completely vulnerable to any number of calamities, infirmities, disabilities, tragedies, challenges and set-backs with broken battered sails, struggling to survive.

All of humankind aboard the same spacecraft gliding sliding slipping, suspended dangling without a net in a place that is not sure of itself, aware and unaware of the hazards humans have created. The volatile nature of humanity is clear, present and not new, the way life as lives are taken for granted, trampled-on, exploited and disrespected by those who continue to create problems, war, hate, greed reckless, unconcerned about others struggles, wants and needs. People get shaken-up, tossed aside as unimportant, without a prayer, no refuge nor peace, no love. The air is limited, stale with despair, doubt, fear filled with dark matter as evil forces try to sabotage us out of our own light suffocating the simple goodness found in the hearts and souls of earths precious inhabitants.

Life unfolds with or without our permission, ready or not, things come to a screeching halt out of nowhere life turns to a crying, dying den of carelessness, corrupt with selfish intent to dominate those with little to no voice. In the big picture one hopes for a fair, free, just and simple existence, not asking too much. Curious though how at some point people loose themselves with obsessive wants, needs, must haves at any cost. Happiness in contrast is sought, not always found in plain sight yet constantly waiting in the wings to rise and shine and rise again not far from the surface, priceless and best when everyone experiences happiness and joy. Meanwhile, respect facilitates a good life, peaceful and harmonious.

To live in a world that is led by love and respect is to be given a chance yet again to exist in a place of peace and send our love out to every single person in the world, to dispatch comfort, peace, respite to the weary, war torn and weather worn and somehow receive the intended powerful prayers, although simple the message is strong and able to lift the downhearted who have been put on hold or standing-by brought into light and love even as the world sometimes seems to spin out of control.

LOVE ♥

Love, think of it, feel it, speak of it, give receive and understand the imperative nature of it while appreciating the value of one of the most essential elements of life. The best part of life the soft, strong, purest  love, precious powerful simple and necessary. The soul seems to suffer and suffocate without the divinity of love. Easy and hard, pure, complicated, multifaceted and possibly painful while having the potential to heal, bring joy and fill-in the gaps. Love at it's best, most beautiful is a seamless natural response to matters of the heart and soul like a vital organ, transparent yet very apparent when it is absent.

Learning to love from being loved is as important a lesson as there could ever be, how to cultivate it for a lifetime with people, family, friends, humanity, all of life. Heartfelt love fills  gaping holes bored through the core leaving us weak in places we do not want open wounds exposed, emotional abrasions and bruises, broken hearts are mendable and require the most compassionate and tender love.

Beautiful Companion

How grateful I am for you in my life. THANK YOU for being the perfect creature you are, for your faithful companionship, your trust in me and the unconditional love you bless me with. I appreciate you so much and would be very sad without you. The joy you have brought into my life and continue to bring is as bright and beautiful as the sunniest day known to the world.

Your quiet, simple presence fills me with comfort and peace just as your humble heart and soul settles my storms. Even while you yourself are afraid of thunder and lightening we stay close to protect each other as I repeat to you; "It's OK, it's OK".  We manage to see each other through the chaotic moments that seem bigger than both of us. I take refuge in you dear dog. Time and time again you come around like a ship looking for the lighthouse to light your way. Don't you know it's you who lights my path just as all furry angels on four legs will do.

No judgement ever, only what feels like pure love and loyalty defined. You give meaning to the whole point of having and caring for a pet. "A pet" seems like a mere word with only the slightest description of what you truly mean; which is an awesome being who blesses me everyday with your sweet, unassuming ways. To look into your precious eyes is like looking into a little bit of heaven where all creatures big, little, furry or bald, wet, wild, tame, domesticated and feral go when their lives are done here on earth. Your unpretentiousness has been a guiding light for me and a constant reminder to simply be true to myself taking one step at a time, one sip of water, one bite of food, one kiss, hug, bark, walk, run, nap, moment of fun at a time. My beautiful companion how very precious you are.

WORD

Blogging is a lot like a blister on your writing hand that gets full of pus, full of words that need to be popped, ooze or gush out, splatter the lovely, loco, low-down, up-beat, beautiful, blessed thoughts that beg to be shared and secreted out as wild a metaphor as the actuality itself.

Communication with words is an experience as grand as it is subtle to be able to translate a thought from the mental holding place to a public or private platform, intimate or meant for many. Words facilitate the process of transcription and composition bending, molding, shaping, twisting and turning, conveying an idea or sentiment, the essence of language. The connection with words is precious, necessary and important, the ability to understand without words also part of and source of contact with humankind and other creatures as well.

My heart explodes with joy and sorrow and many times no words can fully express either emotion adequately. It is quite awesome to be able to put pen to paper, tap the keys on the keyboard that seem to glide on the screen. Your thoughts transform into something not quite tangible yet meaningful enough to evoke other thoughts and notions. Words are to the writer what the colors from the painters pallet contain as the blank page or screen dares you to create something out of nothing in a simple or spectacular way, blending words, mixing context and content with every stroke designed to explore a new hue, shade or shadow.

What a thrill, what a ride to write and read and express oneself! To right a wrong, sing a song, laugh or cry a little or a lot remains to be seen with every moment, to withhold withdraw or present with the exuberance and passion of an artist full of idea's or to refrain when words simply do not flow or come-out perhaps only by means of snippets posted in social media or quick communiques with people. The art of the spoken or written word while taken for granted remains available for our whim or epic volumes of story telling and lamentations in prose or other poetic style, there, here and now for the taking, receiving and interpreting, how wonderful. WORD!

Creature Comforts

What makes a creature the way it is? It's evolutionary predecessor? The author and creator, finisher of life? What makes life the way it is? In design, form, function, anymore lovely, lovable, dangerous, repulsive or irresistible than the other? Where it is placed, in flight like the snow geese or crane, in the water, the rain, on land or in a grain of sand? In the tropics or in the high desert? Cared for, comfortable, miserable, feared or forgotten? An innocent dog is "awarded" the title of 'World's Ugliest Dog', with it's little naked head shivering, bulging eyes glisten as a bright brilliant smile frame it's dangling tongue.

The soul so simple and complicated serving as humankind's habitat, the heartland and epicenter of our existence. As nomads we sojourn lost, found, disconnected and connected to each other in time and in the places where our hearts and souls lead us. One heart, one vibration transcending nations, scary, serious, sad, silly,  inspiring situations occur. One imagines a different life, comparing, compromising, hopeful compassion is in place coexisting, codependent upon one another for matters of the mind and body.

How the spirit thrives off of a pulsating planet, people, plants, animals, dwellers of water, land and air breathing one sacred breath into the other. The preciousness of life, this moment, the past and future precious life. The humble, the haughty, the cavalier, crazy, the creative, cranky and incredible, every single speck of light, every dark corner of the world may contain earths elements, from massive elegant oceanic sea creatures to flightless birds who run into the sky like a dream then lands gracefully back on solid ground. Priceless are the treasures of this world.

PEACE

PEACE is a place in our hearts, souls, minds and in the world, it creates change, awareness, strength and stability it thrives in positive environments and seeks to dwell in quiet places. It has the capacity to balance what is uneven and can right a wrong. It longs to keep company with life's light and hastens away if not regarded as important. *It is prayerful and blessed, full of grace supercharged with fierce intention, blind faith and the power to still a savage storm and tame the cruelest conditions. It is available and eager to be discovered during moments of unrest and strain although elusive as the wind it is accessible as one's own thoughts, it is a must have life-saving necessity, a force and matter of self preservation. *Peace is essential to a solid state of mind and best obtained by it's own definition; peacefully and with respect to the precious nature of it's very existence.

Sunni Marie Jack Paz Guadalupita ~

The New Year begins with the heartbreaking decision to let beloved Boxer girl, Sunni Marie transition on into a perfect state where peace is the oxygen and love is worn like fur.

Sleep in heavenly peace precious pet, daughter dog, fantastic member of the family ~

Tumors growing quickly in her lungs caused her breathing to become increasingly labored. She was noble, strong, sweet, loving and beautiful through her last soft beath. She went peacefully and was surrounded by her people who are humbled, honored, blessed and better people because of her.

Everyone should die in such a calm, quiet manner. How to say goodbye and when? It never feels right, never easy, never a perfect moment, until it is upon you. The sad goodbye's in life leave you feeling bewildered, heartsick, lonely for the life that came into yours. The finality is razor sharp when reality takes it's ravenous bite out of you.

You start hearing familiar little sounds as you walk into an empty house devoid of that loving, simple, exuberance and kind presence. To say we miss Sunni Marie is to understate the importance of one who seemed to live for her people's sake. What a great spirit who will be remembered so endearingly. Yes, that little girl will be missed and mentioned often. Sunni Marie Jack Paz Guadalupita, you will remain alive and well in our hearts and souls you crazy wonderful Sundog!
